Equality?, Russ Babcock, St. Paul's SLC

Equality?

Here is BO33:

What is it that we see?

What are really honest choices?

Just listen to the crying voices.

Do we take some more abuse?

Should we choose to cut it loose?

We'd like our voices clearly heard,

For all to hear the Gospel word.

We'll keep for all, equality,

For all, for them, for you and me,

And not be told by them, or you,

Exactly what we ought to do.

We still can work our call together,

To live into the Gospel, whether

We all agree or whether not.

Just don't put us in a tighter spot!

The world is small and well needs us.

There's still a lot we must discuss.

But first, before we choose some fusion

Let us focue on our Gospel mission.

Editor's note: BO33 was the resolution adopted by the 2006 General Convention, calling for restraint in electing as bishops those whose "manner of life," widely understood to mean homosecuality, would cause concern for the rest of the Anglican Communion.
