Archbishop of Canterbury Speaks, by Mike Mayor

The Archbishop of Canterbury along with the Presiding Bishop and several young professionals offered a discussion about the global crisis we face in terms of the economy, the environment, and the human family. The Presiding Bishop reminded us that questions of the environment are not secondary to the current economic crisis, but are primary as the question of sustainability and political stability are inextricably connected to the health and well-being of the environment. Archbishop Williams called those assembled to a place where we begin to recognize the truth of our situation, the truth of the world we live in, and the truth that there can be no profit without cost.
